Imagination. Thought. Creation.

This is me.

I'm 21 and currently studying photography in Chicago, but Massachusetts will always be home. I love the ocean, traveling, and flying. I love all things nautical. I will get my pilot's license someday. I'm a sucker for nice cars. I'm excited about my future. I'm in love, and very happy with where my life is right now. Peppermint ice cream is my favorite. I drink tea religiously. I sleep with the windows open. I've almost perfected the one handed handstand. I've moved all over the country, but I've never been to Florida. Let's be friends. Facebook me. For those of you who didn’t watch the video I posted yesterday, here’s a brief recap of how you get your meat:

Baby pigs have their ears and tail cut off, and are castrated, all without anesthesia.

Grown pigs, kept in overcrowded, tight quarters, grow abscesses and are prone to cannibalism. They are shot in the head with a bolt gun to stun them and if the animal is lucky, they’ll be knocked unconscious. They are then strung up by a hind leg and their jugular is cut open. From here, these hanging pigs, many of which are still alive and conscious, are put into boiling vats of water to remove their hair. Many drown in boiling water in this process.

Chicks are inspected and thrown into piles, then debeaked. As chickens, again in tight quarters, they are also prone to cannibalism. They are then electrocuted, but not all are rendered unconscious, and boiling water is also used on them to remove their feathers. There is also a clip in the video from a slaugherhouse showing a man throwing chickens against a wall, kicking them, and then jumping on them to kill them.

Cows are shot in the head with a bolt gun, but like pigs, they are not always knocked unconscious. They are then chained up by one foot and their jugulars are slit. Some are still alive and conscious when they go down the conveyer to be butchered. A Kosher house was even filmed and they broke about 6 regulations which were put in place to make it Kosher, effectively rendering it non-Kosher.
